From 1985 to 2007, Tony served with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he developed foundational human performance guidance documents adopted by the U.S. Department of Energy and the World Association of Nuclear Operators. He holds an MBA from Kennesaw State University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. A retired U.S. Navy Captain, Tony served 25 years in the Submarine Service—seven on active duty and 18 in the reserves—and was qualified as Engineer of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Systems.
He also served as a senior reactor operator (SRO) simulator instructor at Farley Nuclear Plant, contracted through Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Today, Tony continues to advance risk-informed approaches to human performance, helping organizations manage uncertainty and strengthen operational resilience. He lives near Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife Pam—his best friend since 1977—and enjoys alpine hiking in the Rockies, sporting clays, and golf. He is the proud father of three adult children and grandfather of seven.
