MUSCHARA HELPS YOU IN THREE KEY WAYS...

CRITICAL STEPS IN OPERATIONS
Workers must be able to anticipate, monitor, and respond to CRITICAL STEPS—key actions that, if performed incorrectly, could cause immediate loss of control, irreversible and intolerable harm to an asset. At CRITICAL STEPS, only the intended outcome should occur.
SYSTEMS LEARNING
To optimize an organization’s resilience to human error, managers must be able to detect vulnerabilities within the systems that could expose assets to harm from inherent operational hazards. They need a clear understanding of the extent and root causes of these vulnerabilities and must take effective action to manage or eliminate them.
RISK-BASED THINKING Anticipate - Monitor - Respond - Learn
These four habits of thought form the core of risk-based thinking. Through chronic easiness, workers adjust their performance to protect assets from harm when workplace conditions do not match procedures or expectations. Chronic uneasiness is an ongoing mindfulness of transfers of energy, movements of mass, or transmissions of information that could cause harm to assets.
